IT'S ALL A BUNCH OF 'SCRAPS'.....AND THEN A "LEAP"...

I had some 4x5 card stock left over from a previous mass mailing x-mas cards so I decided to put them to good use and see what I can do with the enormous amount of 'scraps' I have lying around.  Every where I turn, there is a box full of scrap paper from one project or another.  I even started to arrange them by color and length....but I was overwhelmed and decided that the old method worked well so far and I am sticking to it...There seems to be some order in my chaos and I would not have it any other way.
So, I looked at the "red" card stock and sighed...what am I going to do with it.  All of my mojo had gone out with the cold and I was totally mind-frozen...lol
Then I notice all those left-over white strips and the light bulb came on...Eureka!...

I did not measure the strips just used them the way they were eyeballing to make sure that they look like they were at least the same thickness.  I did like the weave pattern but after I added the buttons and took the picture, the card looked kind of naked.  So I rummaged some more and find the left over open hearts from a previous project and added them to the top right corner.  I got to say I am pleased with the final look.  I am going to look for heart buttons for another look....Maybe I will put a dent in those scraps after all.....

This is another use of green, yellow and red scraps.  I tried to limit the cutting to a minimum and worked with the shape of the scrap paper instead of trying to recreate it.  The "J O Y" was cut using my Silhouette.  I had to pull out a brand new mat to hold those smaller pieces in place.

Once I was done poking around in those boxes, I came across this sentiment I bought from MissKateCuttables and again, the light bulb came on....and I went to work ...Here's the final result...

the frog is an svg from the silhouette online store.  I found an embossing folder with some swirls on it and I manipulated it to make the bottom look like water.  Added the tiny hearts for a bit more pizzazz.
Paper stock is from my Darice and Recollections paper collection, nothing fancy....lol....

Oh and by the way, the jury is still out on the usefulness of the Brother Scan 'n Cut.  I am more infuriated with it than I expected.  I am going to have another go at it this weekend.....
Thank you for visiting
